Kent State Falls to UB in Season Finale

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Kent State lost to Buffalo, 43-7, in the final game of the season Tuesday night.
The Golden Flashes won the turnover battle, 2-1, and also got a fourth-down stop inside of the five late in the second quarter. Stephen Daley deflected a pass at the line of scrimmage that was hauled in by Canaan Williams for the first turnover of the night in the second quarter. Brodyn Bishop alertly jumped on a punt that ricocheted off a UB player for his first fumble recovery following Kent State's first possession of the second half.
Tommy Ulatowski and the offense took advantage of the shortened field and scored just four plays later. After connecting with Jay Jay Etheridge on three straight throws to get down to the UB 27, Ulatowski found Luke Floriea in the end zone for a touchdown strike.
Floriea totaled 38 yards on four catches and finishes his career in Blue and Gold with 100 career receptions. Etheridge posted the best game of his freshman campaign with six catches for 64 yards. Jahzae Kimbrough rushed for a career-high 65 yards in his first career start in the backfield.
The Flashes got career-high tackling performances from a trio of defenders. CJ Young led the way with 14 tackles, including eight solo and a sack. Zaid Hamdan and Jaire Rawlison made eight stops each.
