
Kent State Runs Away from John Carroll in Non-Conference Finale

KENT, Ohio — Kent State scored at least 20 points in each period and closed the non-conference portion of the schedule with a 97-59 victory over John Carroll on Sunday.
The Golden Flashes (7-5) had five player reach double-digits in the scoring column, as sophomore Mya Babbitt led the way with a game-high 18 points. Senior Jenna Batsch was right behind with 17, and the duo was joined by sophomores Riley Rismiller (15) and Janae Tyler (13) and junior Dionna Gray (11), who matched her career-high with eight assists while logging 27 turnover-less minutes.
Kent State nearly doubled its guest on the glass with a 46-24 advantage. Senior Bridget Dunn led the way with nine rebounds and junior Tatiana Thomas added eight.
The Flashes open Mid-American Conference play with two home games later in the week, hosting Bowling Green in the league opener on Wednesday, Jan. 1 and then undefeated Buffalo for a nationally-televised CBS Sports Network matchup on Sunday, Jan. 5.
