
Trio of Golden Flashes Named to All-MAC Teams

CLEVELAND — Three Kent State student-athletes have received All-MAC honors, as the Mid-American Conference announced the All-MAC Teams & Specialty Award selections for the 2024 football season on Thursday morning.
Wide receivers Chrishon McCray and Luke Floriea earned all-conference accolades for the second year in a row, with McCray named second-team and Floriea third-team. Fellow wideout Dashawn Martin earned third-team recognition as a kickoff return specialist.
McCray posted career-high totals for receiving yards (705) and receiving touchdowns (9) during his redshirt sophomore campaign. He ranked third in the conference in yards per catch (17.6) and seventh in yards per game (64.1). McCray was named MAC Offensive Player of the Week following a career-high 213 yards and three scores against Ball State. He moved into a tie for fifth in program history with 13 career touchdown receptions.
Floriea caught a team-high 44 balls for 699 yards and seven touchdowns in his final season as a Golden Flash. He ranked fifth in the conference in yards per catch (15.9) and had a trio of 100-yard performances, including a career-high 130 against Ball State. Floriea recorded his 100th career reception in the season finale at Buffalo.
Martin moved into primary kick return duties at the start of conference play and ranked 27th nationally with an average of 22.2 yards per return. He started nine games during his true freshman campaign and totaled 108 yards on eight catches.
