Flashes Open Season, Showcase Skills at Blue-Gold Meet

KENT, Ohio โ The Kent State gymnastics team opened the 2024-2025 season on Sunday with the team's annual Blue-Gold intra-squad meet at the MAC Center.ย
Gold squad's Charlie Behner posted the best score on vault with a 9.900, narrowly finishing ahead of Nene Alvine's 9.850 for the blue team. Blue dominated the bars, recording the top three scores in the event, highlighted by a spectacular 9.950 by Brynne Tsipis.
2024 All-MAC second teamer Heidi Schultz posted the high mark on balance beam, earning a 9.950 for the gold squad. The blue team duo of Dani Fuertez and Nastia Rudnitskaya recorded the joint-highest score on the floor with a pair of 9.825 scores.
Rudnitskaya claimed the all-around title with a total score of 39.325, finishing ahead of her blue squad teammate Alvine.

The Golden Flashes will open the regular season in the new year, as they host Fisk and Wilberforce in a tri-meet at the MAC Center on Friday, January 10 at 7 p.m.
