
Kent State Wins 2024 MAC Men’s Indoor Track & Field Championship

YPSILANTI, Mich. – The Kent State men's track and field team captured the second Mid-American Conference Indoor Championship title in program history Saturday inside the Bowen Fieldhouse at Eastern Michigan University.
Director of Track and Field/Cross Country Nathan Fanger received MAC Coach of the Year honors. In his second season leading the program, Fanger guided the Golden Flashes to 155 points to hoist the trophy for the first time since 2009.
Ayden Bath contributed a team-high 20 points by scoring in three events. Bath won the heptathlon with a personal-best of 5,441, tied for second in the high jump with a PR of 6'-8.25" and added a PR of 7.92 seconds for fourth in the 60-meter hurdles.
Five additional Flashes were crowned individual MAC Champions. Alexandre Malanda (triple jump) and Alex Shields (60m hurdles) repeated as champions in their respective events, while Sean Callahan Jr. (60-meter dash), Quintin Cooks (800-meter run) and Liam Vinskovich (high jump) stood atop the podium for the first time
