Sullinger Leads Flashes to Home Victory Against the Bulls

Kent, OH - The Kent State men's basketball team (14-14, 7-8 MAC) returned to action Tuesday night (Feb. 27) and defeated Buffalo (4-24, 2-13 MAC),76-64, inside the M.A.C. Center. With tonight's win, the Flashes are now back to a .500 winning percentage.
Overall, the Flashes shot 45.5 percent from the field, 85.7 percent from the charity stripe, and 40 percent from the three. The Bulls shot 46 percent from the field, 46.2 percent from the three, and 85.7 percent from the line. The Flashes recorded 38 points in the paint and turned the Bulls' 18 turnovers into 22 points.
Individually, Jalen Sullinger led offensively with 30 points and recorded a career-high eight threes. VonCameron Davis continued his double-figures in MAC play with 17 points. Magnus Entenmann had a career night with 10 points and six boards. Giovanni Santiago dished the ball adding a game-high seven assists while Chris Payton Jr. recorded seven rebounds. For the Bulls, Isaiah Adams contributed 19 points and Jonnivius Smith ended with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
The Flashes started out slow trading buckets with the Bulls. The Bulls were able to take the lead after hitting two field goals and a three-leading 7-2. The Flashes started to gain momentum with a steal from VonCameron Davis leaving the Flashes trailing only by two points with 13:48 left. Neither team seemed to get a comfortable lead but Sullinger was on fire hitting four threes in the first half alone helping the Flashes take over the lead. Davis followed with six back-to-back points with 3:58 left in the first half. With Sullinger's and Davis' double-digits the Flashes went into the final 20 minutes 39-27.
Going into the second half, the Flashes used their momentum to add to their lead. With Jalen Sullinger's three-pointers and Magnus Entenmann's electrifying dunk, the Flashes were able to capitalize. Sullinger hit four more threes while Entenmann shot a perfect 4-of-4 from the charity stripe and six points.

The Flashes will host Central Michigan for their Senior Day following the women's game at 1 p.m. against Buffalo. Tip-off time is scheduled for approximately 3:30 p.m. ET.
