KENT- The Flashes embark on a four-game road trip starting on Tuesday at Ohio State with a first pitch from Columbus set for 5 p.m.
First pitch is moved up an hour to account for rain in the evening forecast in Columbus.
Kent State is coming in at 11-12 on the season after taking two of three games from Saint Joseph's this past weekend at Schoonover Stadium. The Flashes got big swings from Jake Casey last week, as the right fielder socked two homers and drove in four across the week. Â Right-hander Rocco Bernadina will likely get the ball on Tuesday night. The redshirt sophomore has been the typical mid-week starter and averaging just shy of a strikeout per inning.
Ohio State is 10-11 this season and coming off being swept by Georgetown in Columbus this last weekend. The offense is hitting .262 as a team and averaging a touch over six runs per game. It is a balanced offense with five players tied for the team lead with two homers. Henry Kaczmar is one of three players hitting over .300, leading the Buckeyes with a .341 average.
Hunter Shaw is the projected starter for the Buckeyes, making his second start of the year. The sophomore was a JuCo All-American last season but has pitched to a 16.03 era over 10.2 innings, walking seven and striking out nine.
