
Gymnastics Headed to Michigan for NCAA Championships

KENT, Ohio – The Kent State gymnastics team will head to the Michigan Regional for the 2024 NCAA Gymnastics Championships, the NCAA announced Monday.
The Golden Flashes will compete against No. 8 Alabama, No. 11 Michigan, and No. 25 Penn State on Thursday, April 4 at 1 p.m. No. 1 Oklahoma, No. 16 NC State, No. 17 Ohio State, and either No. 31 Illinois or No. 34 Ball State will compete in the second session on Thursday night, with the top two finishers from each session moving on to compete on Saturday, April 6.
Kent State ended the regular season ranked No. 23 in the nation after placing third at the Mid-American Conference Championships on Saturday. The Flashes have had a historic season in 2024, earning five of the top-six team totals in program history and setting program records in three of the four events. Kent State returns to the NCAA Championships as a team for the first time since 2021.Â
