
Flashes Head to the 'Zoo to Take on Broncos

KENT- The Golden Flashes hit the road for a three-game conference series against Western Michigan, starting on Thursday afternoon.
Easter Weekend pushed up the series a day with the opener set for Thursday at 3:05 p.m. Friday (3:05 p.m.) and Saturday (1:05 p.m.) will also be matinees.
The Flashes sit at 4-2 in MAC play while the Broncos are a game back at 3-3 overall. Josh Johnson has paced the Flashes in the six conference games, hitting a robust .480 with two homers and 11 rbi. Calvin Bickerstaff has led the starting staff. In his two Sunday starts, Bickerstaff has allowed only two runs in 10 innings of work and holding batters to a .160 average.
Western Michigan is hitting .300 as a team through six conference games, averaging eight runs per contest. Three starters are hitting over .400 against conference pitching led by CJ Richmond hitting .476 and Dylan Nevar who has three homers and 12 driven in. The Broncos' staff has also allowed eight runs per game. Nolan Vlcek has been the ace of the staff, the senior has pitched to a 2.70 ERA in his two starts.

Kent State is back in action on Tuesday night, welcoming in Ohio State for the front end of a home-and-home series. First pitch from Schoonover Stadium is set for 6 p.m.
