Flashes Unveil Full 2024 Football Schedule

KENT- The 2024 Kent State football schedule has been finalized as announced by the Mid-American Conference on Tuesday morning.
The season opens at Pitt on Saturday, August 31st. It will be the eighth meeting all time between the programs, the most recent coming in 2003 in the Steel City.
The home opener follows on Saturday, September 7th. It will be a battle of Flashes as the Kent State Golden Flashes host the Saint Francis University Red Flash at Dix Stadium. It will be the first meeting between Kent State and SFU, who plays out of the FCS Northeast Conference.
Weeks three and four have Kent State on the road to close out non-conference play. Week three has the Flashes in Rocky Top to take on Tennessee on September 14th. It will be the first ever meeting between the Volunteers and the Golden Flashes. Week four has Kent State out in Happy Valley to meet Penn State. It will be the seventh all time meeting between the programs and the fifth time since 2010.
MAC play opens on September 28th as the Flashes play host to Eastern Michigan. The two programs are no stranger to each other, having met 34 times previously. They have been especially familiar as of late, this year's meeting will be the fourth time since 2020 the teams have met. This will be Kent State's 2024 Homecoming game and all information about weekend events will be available online (www.kent.edu/homecoming).
The first of two bye weeks for the Flashes comes on Saturday, October 5th before Kent State hosts Ball State on Saturday, October 12th. It will be the third-straight season the programs have met up and the 32nd meeting all time. Traditional MAC play closes on the road for Kent State with trips to Bowling Green and Western Michigan on Saturdays October 19th and 26th. It will be the 92nd meeting between Kent State and Bowling Green and the 57th between the Flashes and Broncos.
As November hits, the Flashes flip into mid-week MACtion. The Flashes will play host to the Ohio Bobcats on Wednesday, November 6th. It will be the 76th meeting between Ohio and Kent State. The following Wednesday, on the 13th, the Flashes will be in Oxford to take on Miami (Ohio). It will be the 71st meeting in program history.
Kent State closes the season with back-to-back Tuesday games. The Wagon Wheel is up for grabs on Tuesday, November 19th, the Flashes will look to reclaim the wheel and control it for the sixth time in seven seasons. The regular season finale will be the following Tuesday, November 26th at Buffalo. The Flashes took home an overtime victory the last time the Flashes were in the Empire State.
The 2024 spring season starts later in March. Flash Bowl II, the annual spring game, is set for Saturday, April 27th at Dix Stadium. Season ticket renewals are now available for the 2024 regular season. For renewal information, please visit KSUTix.com.
