STATE COLLEGE, PA- Five Flashes had two-hit games and the Flashes flew the flag for the second time in as many opportunities with a 10-3 victory at Penn State on Tuesday night.

Kent State scored in eight of the nine innings in a complete team victory over the host Nittany Lions in front of a record 5,025 fans. The Flashes jumped up early as Josh Johnson got on with a lead-off walk, went to second on a passed ball and scored on a Tim Orr single. Orr came around two batters later to score on a RBI ground out from Brody Williams. The Flashes added solo tallies in the second and third off singles from Johnson and Williams. The lead built to 5-0 before Penn State got on the board in the fifth, but Jaden Varner got out of a bases-loaded jam to end the threat.

The Flashes never let Penn State gather momentum, answering their run in the fifth with solo tallies in the sixth and seventh and two more in the eighth and one more in the ninth. Johnson pushed across a run on a bunt while Mike McNamara and Ripken Reese plated runs with singles. Seven different Flashes scored a run and five drove in at least one. Rocco Bernadina got the win with 4.2 innings of four-hit, one-run ball while striking out five. Varner, Caden Leonard, Gavin Jones and Benny Roebuck shut the door the rest of the way as the Flashes struck out 11 on the night.

The victory moves Kent State to 17-17 while Penn State moves to 18-15. Kent State will look to go 2-0 against the Big 10 this week welcoming in Ohio State on Wednesday night. The Gold Out at Schoonover is set for a 6 p.m. first pitch.
