
Flashes Host Falcons in Big Weekend MAC Series

KENT- The Golden Flashes welcome in first-place Bowling Green for a critical three-game weekend series, starting on Friday night at 6 p.m.
Bowling Green is out to the best start in conference history at 17-1 in MAC play and own a five-game lead in the conference standings with four weekends remaining. The Flashes currently sit in sole possession of fifth-place at 10-8 in MAC play and three of the final four weekends at home.
The weekend features the two top offenses in the MAC, Bowling Green is averaging over 13 runs per MAC game, topping 10 runs in 14 of the 18 conference games. The Flashes have slugged the most homers in the MAC at 45 and averaging 9 runs per MAC game.
Josh Johnson leads the MAC with a .459 average against conference pitching, but BG has the top six players in runs scored and three of the five top run producers in the MAC. On the mound, the Flashes and Falcons sit at fourth and fifth in the MAC in team earned run average. BG has been a half run better at 5.47 but the Flashes have punched out more and walked less in fewer innings pitched.
The weekend also features several great promotions at Schoonover Stadium. Friday night is the Student Activities Board Tailgate and Hometown Heroes night. Saturday will be Military Appreciation Day and Sunday features National Superhero Day. Tickets to these games are going fast and can be purchased in advance at KSUTix.com.
