KENT- Payton Ebbing had another two-hit night but a five-run third by Bowling Green was too much on Saturday in a 10-0 setback at Schoonover Stadium.

Bowling Green struck early on Saturday off Joe Miceli, plating a pair of runs off a sac fly and a single, but the righty minimized the damage by getting a pair of pop-ups to end the inning. The Flashes would get two runners on in each of the first two innings, but could not push a run across the plate. The Falcons broke the game open with a five-run third, all coming with two outs.

The game settled down in the middle innings as Benny Roebuck tossed a pair of solid innings in relief. Both Roebuck and Falcon starter Nic Good did not come back into the game following an hour-long weather delay in the sixth. The Flashes again threatened late but couldn't push a tally across the plate. Jaden Varner closed things out for the Flashes, tossing two innings of perfect relief with a pair of strike outs.

It was another sold out crowd on Saturday as Kent State partnered with the United Way to invite veterans out to the ball park. The Flashes wore their alternate camo uniforms and groups of veterans joined the team on the field in a pre-game ceremony. The series is now split at a game each with Bowling Green improving to 23-13 overall and 18-2 in MAC play, while Kent State is 21-20 and 11-9 in conference. The rubber match is set for Sunday with a 1 p.m. first pitch.
