Flashes claim two specialty awards, 19 All-MAC honors

Jaheim Jones capped an impressive season by claiming Mid-American Conference Co-Most Outstanding Performer. To solidify his honor, he posted three victories in four events at the MAC Championships last week. He claimed the 100-meter dash in a wind-aided 9.98 seconds, an all-conditions meet record. His prelim time of 10.36 seconds moved him to a tie for eighth place in program history. Jones then picked up his second individual championship in the 200-meter dash, covering the half-lap race in 20.60 seconds. He then anchored the conference record-setting 4x100-relay team to a time of 39.87 seconds. Finally, he ran the second leg of the 4x400-relay team that finished fourth. All told he scored 23.5 points, set two conference records, and one new all-time mark, and took home meet MVP honors.
Sprints coach Michael Schober was named Women's Assistant Coach of the Year for his work with the sprinters and hurdlers. This is Schober's second Assistant Coach of the Year. His first came in 2018 when he won the men's award. The sprints and hurdles crew totaled 57 points en route to the program's eighth outdoor MAC Championship and 13th overall. The Flashes scored points in all six of seven sprint and hurdle events, including a school record of 3:38.24 in the 4x400-meter relay.
Kent also claimed 19 All-MAC honors at the meet.
