
Chilton Sets New Top-10 Mark in Lexington

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Amryne Chilton posted a new no. 4 all-time mark in the women's 200-meter dash as the Kent State Women's Track and Field team completed day two of the NCAA East Regional meet today at the UK Track and Field Complex.
Competing for the Flashes today were graduate students Grace Luther and Gabby Bailey, junior Aliesha Shaw, and freshman Amryne Chilton.
Luther started the action for Kent in the hammer throw, Luther's best throw measured 180' 2", and she placed 37th. Bailey and Shaw competed in the shot put, Bailey's best toss was 52' .5" and placed 18th, and Shaw finished 30th with a best mark of 49'10". Chilton ran the 200-meter dash, finishing in a new personal best of 23.71 seconds, and moved up to 4th in program history.
The Kent women will return to the track on Saturday where Shaw and Bailey will throw discus and Svenia DeConinck will compete in the high jump. Athletes who finish in the top 12 will advance to the NCAA Championships June 5-8 in Eugene, Ore.
