KENT- The Flashes snapped Miami's nine-game win streak, getting a solid team effort across the board in a 10-2 victory on Saturday afternoon at Schoonover Stadium.

Every starter reached base as the Flashes rapped out 11 hits on Saturday and got five strong innings from Benny Roebuck and the rare four-inning save from Gavin Jones.

Kent State started quickly with three-straight singles in the first. Brody Williams drove in the first run of the game on a sac fly and Mike McNamara drove in a pair with a two-out single to left. After a solo tally in the second, the Flashes broke open the game with a five-run fifth. The Flashes took advantage of two walks and a hit batter in the inning and scored on a single, ground out, sacrifice fly and a two-run homer from Payton Ebbing.

That was all the help that Benny Roebuck. The righty started for the second time this week and pitched into the sixth inning. He scattered five hits, allowed one run while striking out three. Gavin Jones finished the job with a four-inning save, allowing a run on three hits and struck out five. Josh Johnson added a solo shot in the sixth to close out the scoring, his team-best 10th of the season.

The victory moves Kent State to 23-22 on the year and 13-10 in MAC play, Miami fell to 23-20 overall and 15-11 in conference play. The rubber match between the two teams is set for Sunday with a 1 p.m. slated first pitch.
