
Kent State Claims Four Event Victories at WVU Last Chance

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Four members of the Kent State track and field program posted victories at the WVU Last Chance meet on Saturday.
Led by a personal-best from Grace Luther, the Golden Flashes claimed the top three spots in the women's hammer throw. Luther moved to fifth on the program's all-time performance list with a winning throw of 190' on her final attempt. Briana Wright was runner-up with a mark of 173'-3" and Noel Frye recorded a PR of 172'-1" for third place.
Kristian Kneffler cleared 17'-1" to win his second men's pole vault competition of the outdoor season. Layne Studer tied for second with a height of 16'-5.25".
Nolan Landis earned the final victory in field events, taking first in the men's discus throw with a mark of 168'-4".
Connor Boland ran the fastest 400-meter dash by a Kent State athlete this season and won the men's race in 48.76 seconds.
Destiny Nash led the women on the track and recorded a PR of 59.12 seconds to finish second in the 400-meter dash. Nash also took third in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.08 seconds. Sydney Miller also had a runner-up performance with a time of 18:38.94 in the women's 5,000-meter run.
The Golden Flashes will head to DeKalb, Illinois this coming week for the Mid-American Conference Championships, hosted by Northern Illinois, May 9-11.
