Previewing the Flashes
Laura Rybka was hired in July to lead the cross country program following a successful four-year run on staff at Division III Grove City College.
The Kent State men's cross country team returns three of its top four runners from last season, headlined by two-time NCAA qualifier Baidy Ba. The senior has set the program 10K record at the NCAA Great Lakes Region meet two years in a row. Fifth-year runners Ethan Yost and Jacob Mirabell provide veteran leadership and were consistently top-five finishers for the team a season ago.
Sophomore Ella McCollom is the most consistent runner returning for the women's squad. McCollom was a top-three finisher for the Golden Flashes in each race she competed during the 2023 campaign. Seniors Anna Jones and Sydney Miller will look for a strong finish to their collegiate careers.
