Flashes Announce Football Promotional Schedule

KENT, Ohio – The Kent State Football program is excited to announce the promotional schedule for year two of the #KentGRIT era.
The schedule features five opportunities to see your Golden Flashes at Dix Stadium in 2024 with the home opener scheduled at 2:30 PM ET on Saturday, September 7 vs. the Saint Francis Red Flash.
Highlights of the 2024 promotional schedule include Parent & Family Day at the home opener. Kent State will welcome back alumni for homecoming on September 28 against Eastern Michigan. Community Connect and Mental Health Awareness Day will be on October 12 as the Flashes host Ball State, Military Appreciation Day on Wednesday, November 6 when the Flashes host Ohio and Senior Day and the annual Prez D Freeze Out on Tuesday, November 19 against Akron.
"I am extremely excited for the fall and the upcoming college football season," Vice President and Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Randale L. Richmond said. "We have put together a game day experience at Dix Stadium that has something for every football fan. I look forward to seeing families, students and the community at our games this season as we graduate student-athletes, boldly prepared for life after sport, and win championships."

September 7 vs. Saint Francis
- Parent & Family Day:Â Parents, family and friends of our Kent State students are invited to the campus for the home opener
- Replica Jersey Giveaway: The first 1,500 fans in attendance will receive a FREE replica jersey courtesy of Water Street Tavern.
- Gold Out:Â All fans are encouraged to join the team in wearing their Kent State gold to the game.
- Greek Day:Â Members of Greek Life at Kent State are invited to attend the game
- Flashes 101 Tailgate: Students enrolled in Flashes 101 are welcomed to join the complimentary tailgate located inside Dix Stadium in the southeast party tent while socializing with their fellow Flashes
- Future Flashes Kid's Club Day:Â All members of the Future Flashes Kid's receive free admission to the game. Enjoy our Welcome Back Party featuring inflatables, prizes, and more.
- Group Themes:Â Faith and Family Day, Fraternity and Sorority Life Day
September 28 vs. Eastern Michigan

- Fan Chain Giveaway: The first 1,500 fans in attendance will receive a FREE Kent State oversized fan chain.
- Group Themes:Â Educators, Unions, Girl Scout Day
October 12 vs. Ball State
- Mental Health Awareness: The Flashes raise awareness for mental health as part of Kent State University's Mental Health Awareness Month.
- Community Connect: Van Wagner Sports Sponsorships, Kent State Athletics, and the Kent City Connect partners team up for a memorable afternoon at Dix Stadium, connecting the local community, the football program, and Kent State University as a whole.
- HS Band Day:Â Marching bands from the local area team up with the Marching Golden Flashes and perform throughout the game and during halftime.
- Flash Squishy Giveaway: The first 1,500 will receive a FREE Flash plush squishy.
- Spirit Clinic: Our future Flashes will participate in the annual Spirit Clinic featuring a special on-field performance.
- Group Themes:Â Youth Sports
November 6 vs. Ohio
- Military Appreciation Day:Â Join us as we salute veterans and active-duty members of the Armed Forces. The first 1,000 fans will receive a complimentary para-cord bracelet featuring a patriotic rendition of the Golden Flashes logo.
- Mid-Week MACtion:Â Don't miss the first Mid-Week MACtion game at Dix Stadium this season! The first 500 fans in attendance will receive a camo #MACtion t-shirt.
- Letter Jacket Ceremony: Kent State student-athletes will receive their KSU letter jackets during a special on-field ceremony
- Most Valuable Professors: Our hard-working faculty our recognized by our Kent State football student-athletes during the game.
- Group Themes:Â Military Personnel, First Responders, Scout Day
November 19 vs. Akron
- Senior Day:Â Senior members of the football program and Marching Golden Flashes will be recognized for their contributions to Kent State.
- Wagon Wheel: The Flashes and Zips clash once again for the coveted Wagon Wheel rivalry trophy.
- Prez D Freeze Out:Â Join Kent State President Todd Diacon for the annual Freeze-Out game. Students will take home a free bomber hat and enjoy complimentary refreshments and a chance to win great prizes during the game.
- Mid-Week MACtion:Â Mid-Week MACtion continues at Dix Stadium for the home finale!
- Group Bounce Back Day:Â All groups who attended a game during the 2024 season are invited back to close out the home slate strong.
