Kent State Travels to Take on Toledo Rockets

TOLEDO, Ohio – Kent State Men's Basketball begins their second multigame MAC road trip of the season on Tuesday when they play the University of Toledo. Tipoff between the Golden Flashes (11-6) and Rockets (10-7) is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in Savage Arena.
Last Time Out
Most recently, Kent State fell to Miami University on Jan. 18 by a final score of 70-61. Cian Medley matched a career high of 15 points scoring the same as his Dec. 6 performance against Portland. It was his third double-digit performance of the season thus far. Jalen Sullinger followed him in scoring with 11. Cli'Ron Hornbeak and Delrecco Gillespie each tallied 10. Gillespie led the roster in rebounds with eight. VonCameron Davis led the Flashes in assists with five.
Scouting the Rockets
Toledo enters this matchup with a 10-7 record overall, and a 4-1 record in the MAC. They are averaging 78.3 points per game with four players averaging double-digits in scoring including Sonny Wilson (14.9), Sam Lewis (14.7), Javan Simmons (12.2), and Isaiah Adams (10.6). Kent State's overall record against Toledo is 56-87, holding a 35-35 record against the Rockets in Kent, and a 16-52 record against them in Toledo. The Golden Flashes are a perfect 5-0 against UT at neutral locations. This includes winning the most recent meeting between the two programs as Kent State eliminated the Rockets in the first round of 2024 MAC Tournament on March 14 by a final score of 67-59. Head Coach Todd Kowalczyk is in his 15th year at the helm of the Toledo Rockets program entering this matchup against Kent State with an overall record of 288-188.
