
Cross Country Sets Sites on Falcon Invitational

The Kent State cross country teams gear up for their final competition of the regular season and will compete at the Falcon Invitational on Friday.
Hosted by Bowling Green at the Mel Brodt Cross Country Course, the meet will begin with the men's 8K race at 4:30 p.m. and conclude with the women's 6K at 5:10 p.m.
PREVIEWING THE FLASHES
Freshman Michael Hanselman has been the top finisher for the men in all three full-squad meets this season. Following top-10 performances in his first two collegiate races, Hanselman placed 26th at the Joe Piane Invitational last week with a time of 25:00.6, which was more than five seconds faster than his previous 8K race. Graduate student Carter Almady beat his previous 8K time by more than a minute and finished in 25:53.7 to finish 79th.
In the women's 6K, junior Ella McCollom paced the Golden Flashes for the second time this season with a 5K personal-best of 18:29.0 for 32nd. Team depth was on display in the race with sophomore Nora Salem (18:42.8), and graduate student Grace Smith (18:43.1) and sophomore Emerson Greene (18:59.9) also crossing the finish line in less than 19 minutes.
