Kent, Ohio- The Kent State Soccer team punched their ticket to the Mid-American Conference Tournament in Columbus on Thursday night with a 1-0 win at home over the Toledo Rockets.
Junior forward Josie Morgan was fouled in the box and capitalized on a penalty shot in the 32nd-minute to score her third goal in the last five games. That score was all the Golden Flashes needed, as they held on defense for the majority of the game to come away with the 1-0 victory.
KSU outshot the Rockets by a count of 12-8 while also having the edge in the shots-on-goal category by a count of 8-3. The Blue and Gold also accumulated six corner kicks compared to three from Toledo. Junior goalkeeper finished with three saves in the win for the Flashes.
