
Kent State and Miami to Square Off in Nationally Televised MAC Battle

OXFORD, Ohio – The Kent State Men's Basketball team (18-8) will travel to take on the RedHawks of Miami University (19-7) on Friday, Feb. 20. Tipoff is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. on CBS Sports Network. Kent State will be looking to extend their winning streak to six straight games.
Last Time Out
On Tuesday, Feb. 18 Kent State grounded the Bowling Green Falcons by a final score of 91-84. The win was Kent State's 12th straight over Bowling Green sweeping the regular season series. The Flashes' core senior three including VonCameron Davis, Cli'Ron Hornbeak, and Jalen Sullinger remain undefeated by BGSU. Sullinger's 32 points matched his performance on Jan. 14 against Western Michigan matching a career high. He and Davis recorded their 18th and 20th respective games in double-digits for the season. Marquis Barnett tallied 12 on his way to his ninth double-digit game of the season. Hornbeak led the Flashes in blocks with three, and matched Jamal Sumlin in rebounds with seven. Sumlin also led in assists with seven.
Scouting the RedHawks
Miami enters their second meeting of the season with Kent State on a two-game losing streak having lost to Western Michigan on Feb. 15, and Eastern Michigan on Feb. 18. Head Coach Travis Steele is in year three at the helm of the RedHawks with an overall record of 46-44 entering this matchup with Kent State. Miami won the first matchup of the season between these two squads on Jan. 18 by a final score of 70-61.
