CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference revealed its all-conference gymnastics teams on Tuesday, with Kent State leading the conference with five selections. Alyssa Guns earned first-team honors on the floor, while second-team distinctions were given to Charlie Behner on vault, Nastia Rudnitskaya on bars, Heidi Schultz on beam, and Nene Alvine on all-around.
Guns makes the All-MAC first team for the first time in her career, marking her third overall All-MAC selection after making the second team as a freshman and a sophomore. Her National Qualify Score (NQS) of 9.890 on the floor this season tied for the best in the MAC as she recorded five scores of 9.900 or better in the event this season. Her 9.925 earned on the road at Eastern Michigan in late January is tied for the best score by a MAC gymnast across all events this season.
Behner earns the first all-conference honor of her collegiate career with her second-team selection on vault. She led the Flashes in the event five times this season, tallying a team-high NQS of 9.835 which was third best in the conference. Behner closed the regular season with consecutive efforts of 9.800 or better on vault, with a total tally of seven scores that matched or eclipsed that mark.
Rudnitskaya also earns the first All-MAC award of her career after being tabbed as a "Gymnast to Watch" by the conference before the season began. Her 9.825 NQS leads the team and is fourth best in the conference. Rudnitskaya has posted the team's highest bars score in five meets this season and has earned a score of 9.800 or better in seven meets this season.
Schultz's selection marks the second season in a row she has earned All-MAC second-team honors. Her 9.840 NQS on beam leads the Flashes and is third best in the conference. In the team's final MAC meet of the season, a home victory over Ball State, she earned a 9.925 in the event to match the best score in any event by a MAC gymnast in 2025. Schultz has posted the high score on beam for Kent State in four meets this season, earning a score of 9.825 or better in six meets.
Alvine was the youngest Kent State gymnast to make an All-MAC team in 2025, earning second-team honors as a sophomore. She claims the award as an all-around gymnast, the only Kent State gymnast to compete in the all-around this season, despite only competing on beam last season as a freshman. Her season-high all-around score of 39.325 is the second-best recorded by an individual gymnast in the MAC this season. Alvine's highest score of the season was a 9.925 on vault against Central Michigan, a score which matched the highest score earned by a Kent State or MAC gymnast in 2025.
Up next for the Flashes is postseason competition, as they head to Mount Pleasant for the MAC Championship on Saturday, March 22. The meet is slated to begin at 2 p.m.
