
Golden Flashes Clinch Share of MAC Regular Season Championship

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Kent State gymnastics team visited Bowling Green on Sunday, claiming a tri-meet victory over the Falcons and Wilberforce to clinch a share of the MAC regular season title for the second year in a row. The Flashes earned a team score of 195.175 to finish ahead of Bowling Green's 194.950 and Wilberforce's 174.050.
The 2025 regular season conference crown marks the 11th regular season title in program history, all of which have been led by head coach Brice Biggin. The Flashes have the opportunity to claim the title outright and finish conference competition with a perfect 6-0 record as they host Ball State on Sunday, March 9, at 1 p.m. in the MAC Center.
ROTATION 1 – BARS
Kent State earned their highest score of the season in any event to open Sunday's meet on bars with a 49.275. Three Flashes earned scores of 9.875 to top the event standings, setting a new career-high for Charlie Behner, matching a career-high for Brynne Tsipis, and setting a new season-high for Nastia Rudnitskaya. Heidi Schultz also set a new season-high with a 9.850 while Nene Alvine matched a career-high of 9.800 set in Friday's win over Pitt.
ROTATION 2 – BEAM
The Flashes were led on the beam by Alyssa Guns, who earned a 9.850 to win the event. Schultz followed closely with a 9.825 to finish second on the beam, while Ashley Morgan earned a 9.750. Freshman Anika Most earned a 9.775 in her exhibition routine, a score which would have theoretically tied for third in the event.
ROTATION 3 – FLOOR
Freshman Jersey Bingman posted the highest score for the Flashes on the floor, matching her career-high with a 9.825 to finish third in the only event not won by a Kent State gymnast. Behner posted the Flashes' second-best score in the event with a 9.775.
ROTATION 4 – VAULT
Behner matched her season-high on vault with a 9.850 to finish tied for first in the event and lead Kent State. Mya Migliore followed closely with a 9.825 to finish in third and help close out an important victory for the Flashes.

The Flashes will return to the MAC Center next Sunday, March 9, at 1 p.m. when they will face Ball State in the MAC regular season finale with a chance to secure an outright regular season title and undefeated record in conference competition.
