CLEVELAND- Redshirt sophomore infielder, Ripken Reese, has earned Mid-American Conference Player of the Week honors, the league office announced Monday.
Reese was a spark in the Golden Flashes batting order especially in a pivotal conference series win on the road at Bowling Green. Reese recorded two hits in all four of Kent State's games over the week.
On Wednesday at Pitt, Reese went 2-4 with a moonshot home run to right in the top of the fourth inning and an RBI double to the gap in left center.
Friday afternoon in Bowling Green the infielder would give the Flashes in the lead in the sixth on a bases clearing three-RBI triple. In Saturday's run rule victory Reese would have another two hits including a three-run homer in the fifth to really break the game open for the Flashes. In Sunday's rubber match Reese had two RBI singles to aid the Flashes in a series victory.
On Deck for the Flashes
Reese and the Flashes will be back in action tomorrow, Mar. 25, against Case Western Reserve. First pitch at Schoonover Stadium is set for 6 p.m.
