Kent State Announced 2025 Football Schedule

KENT, Ohio – Kent State football announced its 2025 football schedule, featuring a challenging non-conference slate that includes trips to Texas Tech, Florida State, and Oklahoma, alongside a full Mid-American Conference (MAC) conference schedule.
"We're incredibly excited about the 2025 season and the opportunities this schedule presents for our program," said Head Football Coach Kenni Burns. "Our non-conference schedule will test us against some of the best programs in the country, which will prepare us well for MAC play. We have a talented group of young men who are hungry to compete, and we can't wait to get to work."
The Golden Flashes will open their 2025 campaign at home against Merrimack on Saturday, August 30, before embarking on a challenging road trip to face Texas Tech in Lubbock on September 6.
MAC conference play begins early for Kent State, as they host Buffalo on September 13 in their third game of the season. The Golden Flashes will then face another tough non-conference team when they travel to Tallahassee to take on Florida State on September 20. After their first bye week in late September, Kent State will continue their challenging non-conference schedule with a trip to Norman to face Oklahoma on October 4.
The heart of conference play kicks off in mid-October when the Golden Flashes return home the following week to host new MAC member Massachusetts on October 11. The Golden Flashes will follow with consecutive MAC matchups, beginning with a road contest at Toledo on October 18, followed by a home game against Bowling Green on October 25 before their final bye.
After their second bye week, Kent State will enter the season's final stretch with three consecutive midweek MACtion games. The November slate begins with a Wednesday night game at Ball State on November 5, followed by a Tuesday night rivalry matchup at Akron on November 11. Kent State's final home game comes on Wednesday, November 19, against Central Michigan.
The Golden Flashes will conclude their regular season the day after Thanksgiving, traveling to Northern Illinois for a Friday contest on November 28.
