
Enander and Schober Earn MAC Indoor Track and Field Postseason Awards

CLEVELAND – The Mid-American Conference announced its specialty awards for the 2025 indoor track and field Friday morning, with Kent State's Joel Enander named Men's Freshman Field Performer of the Year and Michael Schober named Men's Co-Assistant Coach of the Year.
Enander won the heptathlon at the MAC Indoor Championships with a converted score of 5,434 that puts him sixth on the Golden Flashes' all-time performance list. He also scored a point in the long jump, finishing sixth with a mark of 22'-7".
Schober's athletes accounted for 100 points at the conference meet. Three athletes won gold and three more earned silver at the meet. In addition to Enander's performance, Alexandre Malanda won his record-tying third consecutive triple jump crown. Jaheim Jones tied his personal-best time of 6.71 seconds to win the 60-meter dash. Sean Callahan Jr. (60m dash), Dylan McBride (800m) and Zamen Siyoum (60m Hurdles) added second-place finishes.
