
Flashes Wrap Up Regular Season at Eastern Michigan

KENT- The Kent State Golden Flashes Baseball team will head to Ypsilanti Michigan to close out the regular season against the Eastern Michigan Eagles. The last series of the Mid-American Conference season is set for May 15-17.
The Flashes and the Eagles are set for a 3 p.m. first pitch on Thursday, 2 p.m. on Friday, and a 1 p.m. series finale. All three games will be streamed on ESPN+. Live stats will also be provided.
About The Flashes
Kent State enters the final series of the year at 35-15 on the season and are tied at the top of the MAC standings at 21-6 in conference play.
The Flashes went 4-0 on their most recent home stand with a series sweep of the Western Michigan Broncos and midweek win over the Wright State Raiders. Kent State had a flair for the dramatic with their last two wins coming via a walk off. Dom Kibler was the hero on Sunday sending a walk off homer over the wall in right with two outs in the bottom of the tenth. Brody Williams was the hero against the Raiders serving a two-run walk off double out to right field with two outs in the bottom of the ninth.
Kent State features not only one of the deepest lineups in the Mid-American
Conference but in all of Division 1 Baseball. The Flashes lead the MAC in a quite a few offensive categories including batting average (.319), runs scored (489), hits (533), doubles (118), triples (27), runs batted in (452), total bases (903), slugging percentage (.540), on base percentage (.433), hit by pitches (104), and stolen bases (119).
Kent state has been showcasing their elite speed on the base paths in 2025
stealing 119 bases through 50 games. That is good for 17th in the country and is top of the Mid-American conference. The Flashes' 119 stolen bases is 49 higher than the next highest in the conference.

Scouting the Opposition
Eastern Michigan comes into the weekend at 19-27 on the season and are in a three-way tie for sixth in the MAC standings with the other two directional Michigan schools.
The Eagles dropped their last conference series 1-2 on the road against Central Michigan winning game two 9-7. The Eagles took on Notre Dame Tuesday night and dropped the contest 10-12.
Senior, Drew Beckner, has been the ace for the Eastern Michigan rotation pitching and starting 13 games. The left-hander has pitched to the tune of a 5.48 ERA across 67.1 innings and is averaging just over a strikeout per inning. Beckner is holding batters to a .268 batting average
