
Twelve Golden Flashes Earn CSC Academic All-District® Recognition

KENT, Ohio – Twelve Kent State student-athletes from six different teams have received Academic All-District® honors, the College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced on Tuesday.
Wrestling led the way with four student-athletes in Hunter Andel, Ethan Barr and Billy Meiszner and Blake Schaffer on the Men's At-Large Team. They were joined by men's golf student-athletes Edvin Backstrom and Jordan Gilkison.
Gymnastics and lacrosse both had two student-athletes named to the Women's At-Large Team. Nene Alvine and Alyssa Guns represented the gymnastics program, while Zayda Crumpton and Lizzie Lundeen represented the lacrosse program. Veronika Kedronova (golf) and Eva Usoz (field hockey) were also recognized.
The CSC Academic All-District® teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in their respective sports and in the classroom. In order to be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must have reached sophomore athletic status and be starter or key reserve while maintaining at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average.
