KENT, Ohio – Kent State's interim head coach Mark Carney announced today the appointment of DeMarkco Butler as assistant general manager and director of player personnel for the Golden Flashes. Butler brings extensive experience in football operations and player personnel management to Kent State.
Butler most recently served as the assistant athletic director for football operations and player personnel at the University of Central Missouri, where he joined the Mules program in 2022. Butler's career in collegiate athletics began at Western Illinois University, where he served as a graduate assistant for facilities, events, and game day operations. Later, he worked as an operations assistant for WIU Athletics from 2014 to 2015.
Butler earned his bachelor's degree in communications and business with a minor in Spanish from Monmouth College in 2010. He completed his master's in sport management from Western Illinois University in 2016.
