Scouting Eastern Michigan
The Eagles have started the season off strong in 2026 with a 5-1-4 record with their lone loss of the season coming to Detroit Mercy. Eastern Michigan is also already one win away from matching their win total from a year ago.
The Golden Flashes and the Eagles have one common opponent so far this season in the Duquesne Dukes. EMU defeated the Dukes in Ypsilanti earlier in the year by a score of 3-1, while the Flashes lost to Duquesne on the road 1-0.
Leading the Eagles on the offensive attack is Christie Fransen who has nine points off of four goals and one assist this season. Tayla Maddock is the other multi-goal scorer on the team with two. Rosalie Takacsy leads the team with three helpers in 2026.
In net for EMU will be Ella Holland, who has been one of the best goalkeepers in the MAC this season. She leads the conference in goals allowed with just three as well as shutouts with seven. On 86 shots faced, Holland has come up with 24 saves and a save percentage of .889 in 10 starts.Â

Sunday's game will be the 32nd all-time meeting between the Flashes and the Eagles as EMU currently holds the series lead by a count of 15-14-2. The blue and gold last beat Eastern Michigan in 2023 while last year the two schools tied in a game where Ella Holland tied a 28-year old MAC record for saves in a game with 20.
