
Flashes finish second at the Ball State Tri-Meet

MUNCIE, Ind. – The Kent State gymnastics team finished second at the Ball State Tri-Meet on Sunday afternoon, posting a 194.650 at Worthen Arena. Host Ball State won the meet with a 195.300, while the Golden Flashes defeated Illinois State (193.975).
The Flashes (6-5, 1-1) struggled on balance beam but delivered solid performances on bars and floor to secure their sixth win of the season.
ROTATION 1 – BARS
Kent State opened with a 48.775 on the uneven bars. Charlie Behner tied for second in the meet with a 9.875, just 0.075 behind Ball State's Ashley Szymanski. Heidi Schultz tied for seventh with a 9.800, while Sophia Balko posted a 9.750 for twelfth place. Lana Mast and Nastia Rudnitskaya each contributed 9.675s.
ROTATION 2 – BEAM
The Golden Flashes posted their lowest score of the day with a 48.225 on balance beam. Heidi Schultz tied for fourth in the event with a 9.725, while Mya Migliore and Dani Fuertez tied for eighth with matching 9.700s. Zoe Rankin and Gabby Riley each scored 9.550s.
ROTATION 3 – VAULT
Kent State bounced back on vault with a 48.675, led by Charlie Behner's 9.850, which tied for first in the meet. Sophia Balko finished sixth with a 9.725, while Avery Compson, Taylor Archambeau, and Jersey Bingman all tied for seventh with 9.700s. Mya Migliore rounded out the rotation with a 9.650.
ROTATION 4 – FLOOR
The Flashes closed the meet with a 48.975 on floor exercise. Heidi Schultz and Charlie Behner both tied for first in the event with 9.875s, matching Ball State's Ava Molina. Dani Fuertez tied for seventh with a 9.775, while Zoe Rankin and Nastia Rudnitskaya tied for eleventh with 9.725s.Â
