Gillespie, Safford, and Woidke Win All-MAC Honors

CLEVELAND – A trio of Flashes have won All-MAC awards for the 2025-2026 season. Delrecco Gillespie has been named All-MAC First Team, and to the MAC All-Defensive Team, Morgan Safford has been named All-MAC Honorable Mention, and Quinn Woidke has been named to the MAC All-Freshman Team. The conference announced their season awards on Wednesday, March 11.
Gillespie leads the country in double-doubles with 21 in 31 games. He leads the Golden Flashes in average points per game (18.1), rebounds per game (11.2), and blocks per game (1.4). Gillespie leads the MAC in rebounding and is fourth nationally entering the MAC Tournament. Morgan Safford is second on the roster in average points per game (14.1). He has dropped 409 points including 63 threes, tallied 164 rebounds, 42 assists, 27 steals, and 14 blocks. Safford dropped a career high this season of 34 points on Nov. 7 vs. Cornell and dropped double-digits in 21 games this season. Woidke has led all Kent State underclassmen in scoring this season averaging 9.4 per game. He has a total of 14 games this season with double-digits including a season high of 17 on Nov. 10 against UNCW. With 64 threes, he is second on the roster in total three-pointers and three-point percentage.
Kent State is locked in as the three seed for the Mid-American Conference Tournament and will take on sixth seeded Ohio on Thursday, March 12 in the quarterfinals. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. and will be 30 minutes following the completion of game three at Rocket Arena.
