2009 Junior Season
Batted .324 for the season with 67 hits in 207 at-bats…finished fourth on the team in RBI (53) and third in home runs (10)…went 5-for-6 against Ashland with five runs scored and one RBI in Kent State’s 16-10 win (3/17)…recorded one assist on the year when he doubled up a runner at first base from left field against Ohio State (4/15)…hit the game-winning three-run home run in the bottom of the 10th in game two of the series against Bowling Green (4/18), a 12-9 KSU win…went 3-for-12 in the NCAA Tournament, including a RBI double in Kent State’s 10-9 win over nationally-ranked Cal Poly (5/30)…played nine games for the Peninsula Pilots in Coastal Plains League summer action and batted .342 with 13 hits and eight RBI.
2008 Sophomore Season
Earned All-MAC Second Team accolades after a season of 12 home runs, 44 runs scored, 44 RBI, a .324 batting average and a slugging percentage of .564…totaled 66 hits and drew a team-high 35 walks…started a team-best 55 games…was perfect from the plate vs. Toledo (4/11) going 5-for-5 while driving in five runs and scoring three more…belted two home runs and drove in four RBI at Bowling Green (4/19)…in Kent State’s three-game series at Miami (5/15-17) went 8-for-12 from the plate with three RBI, two doubles and two home runs…jump-started a 10-3 win with an RBI single in the first inning against Northern Illinois (5/22) in the third game of the Mid-American Conference tournament…in the summer, he played for the Peninsula Pilots of the Coastal Plain League…named to league’s All-Star team and earned player of the week (week 9) accolades…finished third in the league in home runs (9), fourth in slugging (.514) and fifth in RBI (36).
2007 Freshman Season
Appeared in 57 games, earning 55 starts…led the team in runs (44), walks (32), batting average (.332), slugging percentage (.550) and on-base percentage (.421)…finished second on the team in hits (70), RBI (46) and home runs (10)…was one of only two freshmen named to the all-MAC first team as an outfielder…selected to Ping Baseball’s inaugural All-Ping freshmen first team…named a Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American…earned MAC East player of the week honors (4/16)…scored the go-ahead run in the title game of the MAC Tournament in the bottom of the eighth inning against Eastern Michigan (5/26).
High School: Earned three varsity letters at Strongsville…named Pioneer Conference Player of the Year as a junior and senior…earned all-conference honors in three consecutive seasons…member of the 2006 Division I state championship team…named Cuyahoga County MVP as a senior…smacked 14 home runs and drove in 62 runs in three seasons…named Strongsville’s Offensive MVP as a sophomore…earned three varsity letters in football.
