Matt Kennedy joined the Golden Flashes baseball coaching staff in the fall of 2022 as the Director of Player Development.

Prior to Kent State, Kennedy was an assistant coach at Butler University from 2020-22. He also had assistant coaching stops at High Point, Saint Joseph's College, Indiana State and Saint Leo University. He also served as the head coach at Parkland College where he went 217-76 and won the 2009 and 2010 national championships. Kennedy was a three-year letter winner for Kentucky Wesleyan University, where he got his start in coaching in 2003.
