2009 Resdshirt Junior Season

While he had only 23 hits in 98 at-bats for a .235 average, Hindel smashed critical base knocks all year long…went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one triple in Kent State’s 8-7 win at Ohio State (4/15)…in KSU’s crucial 6-1 win over Miami (5/15), went 2-for-4 with two RBI…helped Kent State cap a six-run third inning with a two-RBI single against Central Michigan (5/21) in the MAC tournament, a KSU 17-2 win…went 1-for-3 with a RBI single in Kent State’s season finale against Oral Roberts in the NCAA Tournament (5/31).

2008 Redshirt Sophomore Season

Appeared in 45 games with 41 starts behind the plate…recorded a .982 fielding percentage with 313 putouts (second most on team)…batted .237 with 28 total hits and 14 RBI…was hit by 10 pitches, third most on team…went 2-for-4 with a double, triple and three RBI at Bowling Green (4/19)…with two outs in a tie ballgame against Central Michigan in the MAC Tournament (5/21), singled to second base and scored after two throwing errors to help KSU to a 4-2 win…in the summer, caught for the Stark County Terriers…named league’s defensive player of the year, throwing out 36 percent of runners and committing just one error…recorded a .360 batting average and drove in 16 runs.

2007 Redshirt Freshman Season

Hit .240 in 12 games for the Deamon Deacons with an on-base percentage of .385…had a flawless fielding percentage with no passed balls…was redshirted in 2006.

Was redshirted.

High School

Lettered 10 times for Tallmadge High School…four in baseball, four in basketball and a pair in football…his freshman season, the Blue Devils won 2002 OHSAA baseball title, where he hit .351 and logged a 5-0 pitching mark with 29 strikeouts in 29 innings of work…hit .431 as a senior with an on-base percentage of .621…served as the team’s closer his junior and senior years…named Tallmadge High School Athlete of the Year as a senior.
