2010 Junior Season Highlights
•Made 24 appearances with two starts.
•Went 4-1 with a 5.22 ERA, 36 strikeouts and a team-best five saves. His saves mark set a new personal career standard while his strikeouts matched his previous high.
•Tossed 3.1 relief innings and struck out two to earn the mound triumph in a 13-10 Kent State victory at Western Kentucky (2/19) to open the 2010 season.
•Upped his season record to 2-0 after pitching 1.2 innings with three strikeouts out of the bullpen against Penn State (3/30) as the Flashes won, 9-8.
•Recorded his first save of the season in a 7-1 KSU triumph over Western Michigan (4/2), tossing two hitless shutout innings with three strikeouts.
•Fanned a personal season-high four batters over 2.2 innings against Central Michigan 4/16).
•Shut the door at Buffalo (4/23), working four hitless shutout innings and fanning two as Kent State trumped the Bulls, 9-4.
•Earned the starting nod at Youngstown State (4/27) and picked up the mound win after tossing a scoreless two-hitter over five frames and striking out two in a 5-2 KSU victory.
•Struck out two in 2.2 innings to earn his third save as the Flashes edged Miami (5/8) for a 4-3 road win.
•Worked one hitless shutout inning and fanned one in a 14-12 win for Kent State against Bowling Green (5/14).
•Saved his best work of the season for the MAC Tournament, striking out six batters in 7.1 innings of relief work over three elimination games to garner MVP honors. Earned his fourth pitching win after tossing 2.1 scoreless innings and striking out two vs. Toledo (5/28) as Kent State won, 4-3. Pitched 3.1 scoreless frames fanned three to help the Flashes advance to the tournament title game in a 9-8 win vs. Eastern Michigan (5/29). Helped punch KSU's ticket to the NCAA Tournament later that day by hurling 1.2 scoreless innings and picking up his fifth save as Kent State won, 5-3.
•Competed for the Stark County Terriers of the Great Lakes Collegiate League in summer ball, posting a team-best four pitching victories and also recording three saves. Struck out 28 in 12 appearances and 24.2 innings of work.
2009 Sophomore Season Highlights
•Finished the season with a 4-2 record with three saves in 24 appearances and a 5.40 ERA out of the bullpen. His 24 appearances ranks tied for fifth on the school's single-season records list.
•Picked up the win against nationally-ranked Cal Poly (5/30) in the NCAA Tempe Regional, throwing 2.1 scoreless innings in the 10-9 win.
•Threw 3.2 scoreless innings for the save against Miami (5/15) to help Kent State clinch the fourth seed of the MAC Tournament.
•Recorded the win in the semifinal game against Miami (5/22) in the MAC Tournament.
•Played for the Peninsula Pilots of the Coastal Plains League in summer ball, going 1-0 in 15 appearances (four starts) with 20 strikeouts in 31.1 innings pitched (2.87 ERA).
2008 Freshman Season Highlights
•Made 21 relief appearances and one start in his freshman campaign.
•Finished the season 5-0 with one save and a 2.87 ERA in 37.2 innings of work.
•Struck out at least three batters on five different occasions.
•Was one of only two Kent State pitchers to not surrender a home run.
•Scattered four hits over five innings while striking out three batters and giving up just one run for a win vs. Marshall (4/22) in his first career start.
•Tossed three innings of scoreless baseball vs. Buffalo (5/3) to pick up his first save.
•Came on in relief and preserved a one-run KSU lead by recording a strikeout and a ground out in the second game of the MAC Tournament vs. Northern Illinois (5/22).
Prior to Kent State
•Earned First team All-Northeastern Buckeye Conference during his final three years at Canton South High School.
•The Wildcats finished first or second in District in all four years he was on the team, including a 21-6 mark his senior year.
•Garnered NBC Pitcher of the Year accolades as a senior.
•Graduated as the all-time winningest pitcher in Canton South history and earned four letters.
•Also lettered three times in basketball for the Wildcats.
•Played with the Stark County Junior Terriers.
