2009 Sophomore Season
Went 4-3 on the season with 13 starts in 14 appearances with a 4.57 ERA and one save…recorded wins in critical games for the Golden Flashes, including six scoreless innings with only four hits in the rubber match against then-MAC West leading Toledo (4/12)…in his final start of the regular season, allowed only one run on five hits over 5.1 innings to help KSU clinch the fourth seed in the MAC Tournament…in his next start against Central Michigan (5/21), allowed only one earned run in 6.2 innings (the longest outing of his career) as the Golden Flashes pummeled the Chippewas 17-2…Hallock was named to the MAC All-Tournament team for his performance…earned a four-inning save in his only appearance out of the bullpen for Kent State against UNC Greensboro (2/20)…in summer league action, played with teammate Justin Gill for the Peninsula Pilots of the Coastal Plains League…finished second on the Pilots in wins with a 5-2 record…had a 4.33 ERA in 10 appearances (seven starts)…recorded 30 strikeouts in 43.2 innings pitched.
2008 Freshman Season
Took the mound 18 times and made five starts as a freshman…struck out 38 batters in 42.2 innings and earned two saves…fanned four or more batters on three separate occasions including a seven strike-out performance against Cleveland State (4/15)…recorded his first save of his collegiate career against Cleveland State (4/15), throwing four scoreless innings and striking out seven while only allowing three hits and two walks…in the opening round game of the MAC Tournament against Central Michigan (5/21), struck out the final batter for his second collegiate save and preserved a 4-2 Kent State win…threw the final inning of the MAC Tournament to cap a 10-3 semifinal win against Northern Illinois (5/23), striking out two.
High School:
Lettered four times in both baseball and basketball for the Pirates…named the Sandusky Bay Conference and Ohio District VI Player of the Year in baseball as a senior and was first team All-Ohio…helped lead the Pirates to the SBC, district and regional championships as a senior, eventually leading the team to a state final four berth…was a four-time scholar athlete and named to the academic All-Ohio team…became Perkins’ all-time leading scorer in basketball as a senior, ultimately scoring 1,293 points…played for Team Ohio in the 2007 Sun Belt Classic in Oklahoma.
