•Made 19 appearances with 15 starts.

•Ranked third on the team with 69 strikeouts.
•Fanned at least six batters on five occasions, including matching his previous career-high of seven strikeouts against Penn State (3/3) in a 9-8 win for Kent State. Struck out six four times, including at Eastern Michigan (4/11), against Ohio (5/1) in the second game of a doubleheader, against Bowling Green (5/16) and vs. Central Michigan (5/29) in the MAC Tournament Championship Game. Kent State was 4-1 when he recorded at least six strikeouts.
•Went at least five innings nine times, including a three-hit shutout highlighted by six strikeouts as Kent State rolled to a 5-0 victory at Eastern Michigan (4/11).
•Credited with pitching victories in two games on championship Saturday (5/29) of the MAC Tournament, throwing the top of the 10th and getting the pitching win vs. Eastern Michigan in a 9-8 Kent State triumph and starting the MAC Tournament Championship Game vs. Central Michigan later that day, allowing only two runs in seven innings of work to earn the mound win in a 5-3 victory for the Flashes.
•Drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies with the 27th pick of the 49th round of the 2010 MLB Draft.
•Competed for the Stark County Terriers of the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League, earning two victories in four starts and posting a 1.93 ERA and 16 strikeouts in 18.2 innings.
2009 Sophomore Season Highlights
•Made 14 appearances with 13 starts.
•Went 4-3 with a 4.57 ERA and a save.
•Fired six scoreless innings with only four hits against Toledo (4/12).
•Allowed one run on five hits over 5.1 innings in his final start of the regular season to help Kent State clinch the fourth seed in the MAC Tournament.
•Permitted one earned run in 6.2 innings against Central Michigan (5/21) as the Golden Flashes pummeled the Chippewas, 17-2.
•Earned a four-inning save in his only appearance out of the bullpen for Kent State against UNC Greensboro (2/20).
•Competed for the Peninsula Pilots of the Coastal Plains League in summer ball, finishing second on the Pilots in wins with a 5-2 record. Had a 4.33 ERA in 10 appearances -- including seven starts -- and recorded 30 strikeouts in 43.2 innings pitched.
2008 Freshman Season Highlights
•Made 18 appearances with five starts.
•Struck out 38 batters in 42.2 innings and earned two saves.
•Fanned four or more batters on three separate occasions, including a seven-strikeout performance against Cleveland State (4/15).
•Recorded his first save of his collegiate career against Cleveland State (4/15), throwing four scoreless innings and striking out seven.
•Struck out the final batter for his second collegiate save in the opening round game of the MAC Tournament against Central Michigan (5/21).
•Threw the final inning of the MAC Tournament and struck out two to cap a 10-3 semifinal win against Northern Illinois (5/23).
Prior to Kent State
•Lettered four times in baseball for Perkins High School, garnering Sandusky Bay Conference and Ohio District VI Player of the Year and First Team All-Ohio accolades as a senior.
•Helped the Pirates to conference, district and regional championships and a state final four berth as a senior.
•Was a four-time scholar athlete and earned Academic All-Ohio Team selection.
•Played for Team Ohio in the 2007 Sun Belt Classic in Oklahoma.
•Also lettered in basketball, becoming Perkins’ all-time leading scorer as a senior with 1,293 points.
