2009 Freshman Season
Appeared in 20 games (seven games exclusively as a pitcher and three more hitting and pitching), earning two starts as a DH…went 2-0 and allowed 10 earned runs in 10 innings of work for a 9.00 ERA…after putting the first two runners on in the NCAA tournament against Oral Roberts (5/31), he struck out the side to get out of the jam unscathed…received his first collegiate win against Duquesne (3/18), allowing only one unearned run on two hits in two innings of work in KSU’s 7-5 win…earned his second win in Kent State’s miraculous seven-run ninth inning comeback against Miami (5/16) in the regular season finale for the Golden Flashes, a 12-11 win.…appeared in the infield and on the mound for the Licking County Settlers of the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League…finished third on the team with a .319 batting average and led the team with seven doubles in the regular season…led the team in pitching with a 0.56 ERA in five appearances (two starts)…went 1-0 and only allowed three earned runs in 16 innings pitched while striking out 11…named to the second team All-GLSCL as a utility player and also played in the league’s all-star game.

Played pitcher and shortstop at Archbishop Hoban High School…named a 2008 Under Armour preseason All-American…named to the first team All-North Coast League team after batting .494 and recording a 4-1 record with a 0.95 ERA as a pitcher his senior season…also named honorable mention All-NCL his junior year…coached by Scott Kuenig…also lettered two times in basketball for the Knights…played for the Stark County Junior Terriers.
