2014 JUNIOR SEASON
• Played in 49 games with 48 starts before suffering a season-ending illness
• Batted .244 with 14 doubles, one homerun, 28 RBI and 12 stolen bases. Also totaled a team-high 139 assists
• Went 3-for-6 at Arizona Feb. 15 with a RBI and two runs scored
• Hit 2-for-5 with two runs scored and one RBI in both games against Winthrop
• Posted a 4-for-5 day at Ohio Apr. 6 with two runs scored, four RBI, two doubles, a walk and two stolen bases
• Was a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and a homerun against Buffalo Apr. 20
• Registered a hit in 9 of his last 11 games before being sidelined
2013 SOPHOMORE SEASON
• Appeared in 59 games all of which he started.
• Led the team in hits with 73, hitting .312 with 24 RBI and 11 doubles.
• Defensively had 98 putouts and 180 assists.
• Went 4-for-4 against Ball State on March 29.
• Had a career day April 7 against Ohio going 4-for-5 with two doubles, two RBI and two runs scored.
• Had 6 putouts and 2 assists against Miami May 24.
2012 FRESHMAN SEASON
• Started in 53 of the 61 games played. Batted .278 with 55 hits, 39 runs, eight doubles, four triples (tied for first on team), four homeruns, 31 RBI and a .419 slugging percentage.
• Defensively, had a .938 fielding percentage with 107 assists (third on team).
• First career start was February 17 at Georgia Tech.
• Picked up first career hit on February 25 at Lipscomb. Went 2-for-3 in the game with three runs, one RBI, one walk and two stolen bases.
• Had a three hit performance in five at-bats with two runs and two RBI against New Mexico State on March 10.
• At Ball State, went 6-for-11 with four runs, one RBI, one double and three walks in three games.
• Smacked two homeruns, the first of career, in 2-for-5 performance at Bowling Green on April 15. Finished the game 2-for-3 with six RBI, four runs and two walks.
• Named MAC Player of the Week on May 7 for a dominating weekend at Ohio. Batted a team-best .571 with a team-best eight hits. Had multi-hit performances all three games, including going 3-for-5 with two RBI and a run scored in the Sunday finale.
• Went a perfect 4-for-4 on May 23 versus Buffalo with a triple, a double, two RBI and a run scored.
• Had three hits in three games at the College World Series with one RBI.
• Did not have an error through the last 18 games of the season, including all MAC Tournament, NCAA Regional, NCAA Super Regional and College World Series play.
PRIOR TO KENT STATE
• Competed for Triway High School in Wooster, Ohio, under head coach Sean Carmichael, earning First Team All-Ohio and Pac 7 Player of the Year and first team all-conference honors as a senior in 2011.
• Participated in the Mizuno All-Ohio Series.
• Also played for the North Coast Vipers under head coach Michael Godles and played for Team Ohio.

• Parents are Bruce and Barb Polen. Siblings are Garrett Polen and Patrick Gordan.
• Nickname is "Soy."
• Last name is pronounced Pole-en.
• Enjoys fishing and spending time with friends.
• Lists his parents and Philadelphia Phillies first baseman Jim Thome as the people he most admires.
• Wears No. 24 because his favorite player was former Cleveland Indians outfielder Manny Ramirez.
• Is creeped out most by spiders.
• Pre-game ritual is listening to music.
