Appeared in four games…hit .200 with one hit and two runs scored…appeared in eight games for the Lake Erie Monarchs of the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League…hit .233 with seven hits (two doubles) and a RBI.
Prior to Kent State
Played infield for Walsh Jesuit…helped the Warriors to Ohio High School Baseball State Championships in Division II in 2006 and 2008…named a Baseball America player to watch as a senior…also the team captain, received team MVP recognition, and was named First Team all-Ohio his senior year…received “Best of the Best” honors from the Cleveland Plain Dealer…named Rise Magazine top Ohio his junior season…Cleveland Plain Dealer and Akron Beacon Journal also tabbed him as a top prospect…won a player of the week honor by the USA Today his sophomore season…teammate with fellow classmates Brannon Belair and David Starn at Walsh Jesuit…coached by Chris Kaczmar while in high school…also played for the Brownlee Lookouts, the JL Clevelanders and the Midwest Redbirds.
