• Started all 58 of the team's games
• Second on the team with a .349 batting average
• Finished with a team-high 19 doubles while adding in one triple and five homeruns
• Slugged .507 with a .449 on-base percentage
• Was solid defensively with a .991 fielding percentage with 210 putouts and ten assists
• Recipient of the Chet Williams Baseball Endowment
2015 JUNIOR SEASON
• Led the team and conference with a .374 batting average
• Started all 53 games with 76 hits, 13 doubles, 3 homeruns and 32 RBI
• Also was 5-for-9 on stolen bases
• His batting average never dipped below .342 all season
• Started with a 5-for-10 preformance at the plate in three games against Winthrop to open the season
• Had three hits in the second game against Baylor on February 20
• In March 7 doubleheader against Liberty, went 4-for-5 and 3-for-4
• Had three-hit games at Northern Illinois and against Ball State with a double and 2 RBI in each
• Collected 14 hits in a seven game span towards the end of the conference season
• Finished the season with three hits in each of the final three games
2014 SOPHOMORE SEASON
• Appeared in 58 games, starting in all. Hit .351 with 16 doubles, two triples and two homeruns. Also tallied 42 RBI with a .468 slugging percentage and .425 on-base percentage
• Batting average only dipped below .400 once prior to Apr. 22
• Got a hit in 22 of the first 23 games of the season. Reached base in 55 out of 58 games played
• Went 6-for-11 with a double, triple and five RBI in three-game series at Arizona to open the season. Went 10-for-21 in the following four-game series
• Was a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles, a RBI and run scored against Youngstown State Mar. 19
• Racked up six hits in the series at Ohio and again against Miami
• In the 3-0 MAC Tournament Championship victory, hit the two-RBI double in the 8th inning that broke a scoreless tie and gave Kent State the win
• Got a hit in each of the NCAA Regional games.
• Had 2 RBI against Kentucky in the final game of the season that gave Kent State a 2-0 lead heading into the 9th
• Awarded Lewandowski Baseball Endowed Scholarship
2013 FRESHMAN SEASON
• Played in 46 games with 41 starts. Hit .279 with 41 hits, five doubles, two homeruns and 21 RBI. Had 116 putouts and 30 assists with only five errors primarilly at third base.
• In first career game in season opener at UNC Wilmington, went 4-for-5 with a double and run scored in best offensive game of the season.
• During double-header against San Diego on February 23, finished with four hits in eight at-bats with first career homerun, three RBI and two walks.
• Had a three-hit day on March 24 against Northern Illinois with three RBI and a double.
• Went 3-for-7 in two-game series against Niagara, including second career homerun and four RBI.
PRIOR TO KENT STATE
• Four-year player for Valley High School in New Kensington, Pa., under head coach Bruce Campana
• All-Section and Valley News Dispatch First Team selection as a junior.
• Was named a captain in his senior year and was All-Section, WPIAL AAA Player of the Year, WPIAL All-Star and Valley News Dispatch Player of the Year.
•Drafted in the 40th round of the MLB First-Year Player Draft by the Pittsburgh Pirates

• Born October 6, 1993 in Pittsburgh, Pa.
• Parents are Ed and Cathy Zalewski. Siblings are Madalyn and Emily. Ed played collegiate baseball at Penn State.
• Lists his parents as the people he admires most
• Is creeped out most by heights and spiders
• Superstitions include pre-game stretches and not shaving facial hair when playing well
• Would like to visit Hawaii
