After seeing action in five games in 2008, Anthony Magazu will battle battle Giorgio Morgan for the starting quarterback job this fall...a very intelligent player, he has good instincts in the pocket and is a player the coaches have tremendous trust in to run the offense.
2008 Junior Season
Saw field in five games as backup quarterback...completed 11-of-23 passes for 205 yards and a touchdown...threw an 81-yard touchdown pass to Alan Vanderink at Louisiana-Lafayette Sept. 20, the fifth-longest completion in school history.
2007 Sophomore Season
Appeared briefly at Kentucky Sept. 8 and at Ohio State Oct. 13...made first career start against Buffalo Nov. 24, going 12-of-22 for 184 yards and two touchdowns...first offensive play of the game for KSU was a 37-yard pass to Eugene Jarvis...first career touchdown was a 24-yard strike to Jarvis in the first quarter...overall was 13-of-27 for 190 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception...also rushed 14 times for 38 yards on the season, including a career-high 24 yards against the Bulls.
2006 Redshirt Freshman Season
Missed the 2006 season due to injury...received the Don Nottingham Cup as the most improved offensive player at the conclusion of spring practice.

Prior to Kent State
Was a two-year letter winner and set school passing records at Providence High School in Charlotte, N.C....threw for 1,246 yards and 12 touchdowns as a senior...threw for over 1,100 yards and 14 TD's as a junior...began his career at Ashland High School in Massachusetts, throwing for over 1,000 yards and eight TD's as a sophomore...was the team's starter as a freshman before an injury in the third game ended his season...totaled four letters in football and two each in basketball and baseball...was coached at Providence by Bruce Hardin.
