Mohamed Ibrahim joined the Golden Flashes as the running backs coach in spring 2025, bringing a wealth of experience as a standout college athlete and a former NFL player.Â
A native of Baltimore, Maryland, Ibrahim starred at the University of Minnesota. During his time with the Golden Gophers, he became the program’s all-time leading rusher with 4,668 yards and 53 touchdowns across 41 games. His accolades include Big Ten Running Back of the Year (2020), Third-Team All-American honors, and multiple First-Team All-Big Ten selections. Ibrahim was named MVP of the 2018 Quick Lane Bowl after rushing for 224 yards and two touchdowns in the 34-10 win versus Georgia Tech.
Following his collegiate success, Ibrahim signed with the Detroit Lions as an undrafted free agent in 2023. Although his rookie season was cut short due to injury, he gained valuable experience at the professional level and later spent time with the Minnesota Vikings in 2024.Â
