Rob Zeitman became Kent State’s offensive line coach on Feb. 1, 2016. Zeitman spent the previous four seasons as assistant head coach and offensive line coach at Ferris State University.
During Zeitman's first season of 2016, the Golden Flashes put together their best season for rushing yardage in three years. Mike Marinelli and Chase Van Hoef were both named to the Academic All-MAC Team.
In 2014 and 2015, Zeitman helped the Bulldogs to back-to-back Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championships and undefeated regular seasons. Behind a stout offensive line, quarterback Jason Vander Laan won a pair of Harlon Hill Trophies (Division II Heisman).
In 2015, guard Cody Dingeldey earned Academic All-America honors and three Bulldog linemen claimed All-GLIAC honors as Ferris State earned its first NCAA playoff win in 19 years. In Zeitman’s four seasons, 12 offensive linemen earned all-conference accolades, while two claimed All-America honors.
Zeitman’s time at Ferris State came under Head Coach Tony Annese, who was a two-time GLIAC Coach of the Year and Super Region Four Coach of the Year in 2015.
Prior to Ferris State, Zeitman served as head coach at Northview High School in Grand Rapids for five seasons. He was also the head coach at Chippewa Valley High School for two seasons. Zeitman’s time in Michigan began as an offensive coordinator for four years at Muskegon High School.
Zeitman’s high school coaching career began in 1995 at G. Holmes Braddock in Miami, Fla.
Zeitman attended the U.S. Naval Academy and George Washington University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in international affairs.
Rob and his wife, Lori, have three children, Rebecca, Hannah and Elijah.
