Alan Wallace was hired in June of 2020 as the Head Athletic Trainer and works with the football team and oversees the graduate assistant that works with the women's soccer program.
Wallace came to Kent State after working as an outreach athletic trainer for six years at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. There, he worked with and provided care for the Ohio State men's club rugby team and he also traveled as a contracted athletic trainer for USA Rugby for 3 years. In the offseason, he worked for an outpatient orthopedic rehabilitation clinic on Ohio State’s campus working predominately with students and faculty members at OSU.
Wallace had a variety of sport assignments while working with the outreach team at OSUMC. During the summer of 2019, Wallace was the Head Athletic Trainer for the Arena Football Team the Columbus Destroyers. In 2017, he was the Head Athletic Trainer for the Columbus Aviators during the inaugural season for the PRO Rugby League. His first duties with the outreach team were with Columbus State Community College. He oversaw the day to day care of Columbus State’s athletes for 3 seasons.
Wallace earned his bachelor's degree from Duquesne University and has a Master's from The Ohio State University. The Pittsburgh native and his wife Becky have two kids, Aubrey and Connor.
