Coming off the best performance by a freshman wide receiver in school history, Tyshon Goode returns as the starter at split end.
2009 Freshman Season
Named to Phil Steele’s All-Freshman second team and was an honorable mention Freshman All-American according to CollegeFootballNews.com…was also one of 10 players named to ESPN.com’s Non-BCS All-Freshman squad…set school freshman records with 53 receptions (T-5th overall), 755 yards (7th) and five touchdowns (T-8th)…set freshman single-game records with 11 grabs (T-8th overall) for 198 yards (9th) and a pair of touchdowns Oct. 31 against Western Michigan…had at least one catch in 11 of 12 games, recording three straight 100-yard games from Oct. 24-Nov. 7…ranked ninth in the MAC in receiving yards per game (62.9) and 12th in receptions per game (4.4)…had six grabs for 84 yards in collegiate debut against Coastal Carolina Sept. 3…made nine catches for 105 yards and a pair of touchdowns at Ohio Oct. 24…hauled in eight catches for 132 yards Nov. 7 at Akron.
Prior To Kent State
Was a two-time all-state and three-time all-league honoree at running back for Nottingham High School…compiled 3,771 yards rushing and 40 touchdowns over his final three seasons, including a 1,400-yard, 15-TD effort as a senior…played for Paul Sealy at Nottingham and Robert Prunty at Hargrave…enrolled at Kent State in the spring and practiced with the team.

Born Feb. 20, 1990…son of Diedra Glenn…has two sisters, Cintia and Cinte Johnson, and a brother, Tommy Checks…Cintia was a three-year letterwinner at guard for the Syracuse women’s basketball team…majoring in sports administration…last name is pronounced “good.”
