2007: Appeared in a career-high 14 games starting eight...did not allow an earned run in nine of her 14 outings...did not allow a hit in seven of her appearances....posted a career-best 1.89 ERA...struck out nine in a six-inning shutout to earn victory vs. Rhode Island (3/17)...also earned victories vs. St. Mary’s (3/1) and Northern Illinois (4/21)...struck out eight and allowed just one hit in five scoreless innings at Ball State (5/4)...Flashes went 11-3 in games she appeared in.
2006: Appeared in 10 games, including seven starts...recorded her first career victory with 6.1 innings of relief in the Golden Flashes’ 12-5 against Youngstown State (3/18)...in that game, she struck out a season-high seven batters...she equaled her season-high with seven strikeouts in six innings versus Pittsburgh (4/4)...12 became her magic number as she earned her first collegiate victory as a starter in KSU’s 12-6 win versus Youngstown State (4/18)...registered 33 strikeouts in 36.2 innings.
2005: Made seven appearances in the circle, starting one...had a 2.93 ERA with a 0-1 record...struck out eight in 14.1 innings...best performance came against Iowa State on March 5th at the Bulldog Classic in Fresno, she struck out three in 5.1 innings.
High School: Was an honorable mention all-state, first team all-district and first team OVAC selection...notched a 0.96 ERA, four no-hitters and 304 strikeouts with an average of 15 K’s per game as a junior...recorded 161 K’s, 0.57 ERA and a 17-2 record with the Raging Thunder club team.
Personal: Born Jan. 31, 1986...is the daughter of James and Georgeanna Burns...has three older sisters, Rachael, Sarah and Hannah...majoring in special education.
